Yet another flag day
i'm starting to get so used to saying
"Hello/Excuse me, would you like to donate?" week after week after week, that i think i can stick out my can and blurt it out to some passerby without even thinking
but amazingly, i enjoyed today's flag day! and it was the most fruitful one in my entire life
for starters, i finished all the stickers given! :D
anyone who wants to have a short and sweet flag day and yet not return with an almost empty can, i would suggest going to Bugis Street's temple and plonking yourself at the exit for a few hours
the people there are MUCH MORE GENEROUS THAN SMOO PEOPLE! :D
after roughly 2 hours of what yijing calls "BEGGING", me and tantan finished all our stickers plus a few more donations from this super nice auntie and a little child who disappointingly left without a sticker
the little kids are one of my biggest customers! (RIGHT AFTER THE ELDERLY)
they love to
DOINK the coins [parent language] and then just stand there and stare at you. translating that STARE, it means : could you please pluck a sticker off your can and put on my finger?
after returning the cans (the lady said my can was the HEAVIEST! MUAHAHA!), me and tantan went to the Popular Bookfest at Suntec Convention Centre
i'd been dying to go since it started and i finally got the chance! and on the second last day too!
so coindentally, (HEEHEE) rui en was going to make an appearance there at about 5.30pm
which was about the time we reached :D
we walked down all the stationery displays, testing highlighters, pens, flipping through notebooks, diaries, fulscap papers and grabbing the stuff we wanted (as well as dumping them on a random shelf the moment we decided we didn't want them anymore. not very nice, i know.. :P)
i managed to catch lots of glimpses of rui en while she was having her album autograph session
actually i just stood at a really nice spot watching (REALLY NICE SPOT, since the whole area had barriers all around, and from where i stood, her head was at least ping-pong ball huge--quite big!), and guess what!
SHE LOOKS PRETTY IN REAL LIFE TOO! so no photoshop there.. :D
one comment: the emcee talked far too much
i would've gone up to get her autograph IF I COULD
since it was her album autograph session, OBVIOUSLY you had to get her album in order to go up
it was pretty orderly, because only a small number of people wanted to buy her album
more kiamsiap people like me would probably think 10 times before getting an album
with her autograph on itif it were an ordinary autograph session, most likely i'd have queued for it
but then again, the place would probably be streaming with people, and the stage collapsing from the crazy weight XD
and i might have to fight off about fifty other random people, also wanting her autograph, just to stand in a 200-people long line for six hours just to wait for the prize: standing in front of rui en with her asking me for my name and she writing (or scribbling) it on a sheet of fulscap paper along with a side note which says "加油!" and her really fancy signature
the fulscap paper? i'd most probably laminate it, frame it up, and stick it on my wall for the rest of my life
now thinking about it, it's not really worth it
at least i got a thousand glimpses of her today :D
it's not everyday someone like me gets to stare at a celebrity for 10-15 minutes

BUT IF it were Jesseca Liu up there on stage with her "album"(i don't think she sings? O_O), i would CONSIDER getting her album PLUS THE AUTOGRAPH--DUH!!!!!!!!!
